Tickets

Only advance purchase of a ticket guarantees a seat. Reservations and ticket purchase for your clients should be made as much in advance as possible to ensure space availability. Tickets may be purchased online, at some general sales agencies, authorized travel agencies or any VIA sales office.

Boarding Pass - Via Rail is using e-boarding passes on its trains. A boarding pass with a bar code is emailed to passengers booking a seat on an eligible train. Passengers can then present a printed copy of the e-boarding pass, or display the barcode on a mobile device. If the passenger loses the boarding pass, he or she can simply print another one from the email.

Form of Payment - Online purchases can only be paid for by credit card. Debit cards are also accepted but only on those from select institutions. For tickets purchased at a VIA ticket counter, cash, credit cards, debit cards, checks and traveler's checks are all acceptable forms of payment.

Refunds - Tickets must be submitted with the receipt coupons. In most cases refunds on unused or partially used tickets are processed with receipt of payment at any VIA sales office. Some conditions may apply. Tickets purchased through a travel agent may only be refunded through the agency.
